This was unfortunately a horrible tragedy that could have been prevented if his medical condition had been properly reported to federal firearms licensing… even though it’s required to do so.
But.. one thing that struck me me odd was in his ramblings CHO siad … "I will no longer run, , if not for me or my children…. for my brothers and sisters …. *****"
What do you think he means by children?
He was not known to even have a real girlfriend… his roommate said he had an imaginary girlfriend. The news media has not picked up his reference to his children. Nor have they even mentioned if he had a brother or sister. But he certainly did not have children. If you believe he was speaking metaphorically… to what end

I wondered the same thing and I feel we are missing some critical pieces of information.
Remember, he was mentally disturbed!
But aside of that and to answer your question, he felt discriminated against, in some way, for some reason. I don’t know if it was racial, economic, by women or what … and I believe this is what he was referring to when he made that statement.
But again, don’t forget that we’ve all been discriminated against in some way for some reason, and yet we don’t go around shooting people. So understanding the story is interesting, but don’t be lured to believe that what he did was in any way justified. (I’m not saying that you are, just posting a reminder because it is always easy to misplace blame).
I’ll tell you who I may find it appropriate to blame beyond Cho … his parents, for not getting him the help he desperately needed. THere must have been signs earlier on …And yet at the same time I feel sorry for them because for the rest of their lives they are going to have to wake up each and every morning knowing THEIR kid killed 32 people and seriously hurt 32 families.
typical persecution complex, he is fighting back against "THEM"
So as a tragic hero, he will of course strike a blow for the freedom of future generations.
In the British occupation of Malaya, for no apparent reason young men would run amok, knifing and killing people, this problem was solved by ordering the police not to kill them but to capture and jail the offender. No longer would they have the big death scene but would just rot away in jail. With out the dramatic sacrifice the appeal fell away
He was speaking about the asian community in general with that line. He was a very hurt person, Ive been there myself (although I wouldnt shoot up 62 people).
C’mon, in a country where the average guy looses his virginity by 16-17; he was 23 and never even dated – dont you think that thats why he was so angry?
I think what he meant by "my children" is by the people who are like him, kind of like, people who are mistreated because they’re slightly different.
who cares what he was referring to…he’s a waste of thought, a waste of time, a total waste of a God creation. he was a complete and utter moron and psychotic idiot.
Don’t look for logic in the ramblings of someone like Cho. There isn’t any.
The media has mentioned his sister at Princeton several times. He was comparing himself to Jesus when he said children and I think he meant other people who were bullied when he said brothers and sisters.
You don’t seem to have picked up on the fact that this guy was clearly out of his ever loving mind – his actions prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was dangerously mentally ill. If he was referring to his "children" it was probably his own twisted mind thinking of the people he might influence in the future. As for me I hope all people are smart enough to NEVER become his "children" – the thought makes me shudder.
I think Cho thought he was some sort of prophet. It seems he fancied his literature, and he definently wanted to make himself out to be a "Quentin Tarantino-type character". His rambling manifesto and pictures certainly cop that sort of feel, in my opinion
he has kids he is known to have raped many women
Its very simple to understand. He is talking about people like him, people victims of mental abuse due to being introvert, different, physically different, ect.
His children probably means people like him in the future.
The public just doesn’t understand him and calls him a wacko bu to the people that have gone through the same ordeals and dealt with mental abuse can easily understand was Cho is saying. Personally, I feel bad about the people that got shot but to read Cho’s writtings I feel good, I feel he is going to save way more people than he killed to get the message out.
It is near impossible to understand if you have never dealt with mental abuse because the brain actually get re-wired and everything becomes hyper sensistive to your surroundings and others emotions.
People that call him crazy are just ignorant to everything around them and too lazy to think. They are puppets of the media as the media tells them what to think and say.
he was crazy…thats all that matters nothing he did or said meant anything.
Of all the craziness in this video, his reference to children is not exceptional. He may mean spiritual children, those who come after him to kill more people, who knows?
He did have a sister, but so far she is quiet, like his parents. I don’t blame them.
He has an elder sister graduate of Princeton. Him referring to brothers and sisters its possible he meant people who are Korean or part Korean ,or even just people he felt were in the same circumstances he is in.
As far a children I have no idea but again he could be referring to people he feels are in the same situation that he is in, or I suppose spiritual . I don’t know…..he clearly lost touch with reality so I don’t think he even truly knew what he was spewing.
he had a messiah complex.
Jesus Christ "technically" did not have children, he also referred to everyone as his brother and sister…. he also refered to many as "his children"
Cho appears to have possible used the term with some religious significance, not in reference to his own children… which he did not have.
I caught that too.
I’m guessing he was trying to sound important and like what he did actually had a purpose- which it did not.
Honestly I don’t even think he meant metaphorically I don’t think he was thinking in those terms. He was just trying to say something, anything to sound like a martyr.
