Laws are only for the people who follow orders. Just like locks only keep out honest people. You can go 5 blocks in any direction on a street in NY, LA, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Charlotte, or most areas, and find a gun for sale by a private “not so legal” person and obtain a gun. I do agree that in the not so distant future, if left to the policy makers, that only the lawless and criminals will have guns.

I own a true blue H&K MP5, FNH SCAR .308 and FS2000 custom… All full auto. All purchased for less than 10k. Not trying to be mean, but if your paying that much for a full auto rifle, you are either the army or an amateur. Get informed and find dealers in your area that might be able to set you up with the right purchase, at the right price.

That is an interesting and thought provoking statement. When my mom talks of how liberal some European countries are for allowing topless beaches, I ask her whats worse, allowing women to be topless or to allow people to buy numerous weapons that are designed to kill? I can’t buy a radar detector, but I can buy twelve handguns a year.

In 39 states it is legal to own a suppressor and a SBR or preban fully automatic firearm legally if you go about it the right way. A citizen can apply for a tax stamp for each item. If you want to purchase a Short Barreled Rifle (less than 16″ OAL) you would have to file form 1 or 4 and pay $200 for the tax stamp. If you wanted to own a suppressor, it is another form 4 and another $200. Everyone is accurate in the statement that you have to be a business entity to buy/sell firearms for a profit to receive an FFL.

I actually have an SVD Russian rifle, however it’s with a relative in Michigan and am trying to find out if I will be required to have any official license to own/operate this weapon. It’s magazine fed, semi-auto and the barrel is def. more than 16 inches…so can anyone help me out here? This is my first firearm and don’t know anything about registering in another state in my name, as my uncle bought it for me.?????
