Unfortunately, no. America’s whole culture is based on ‘the right to bear arms’. You can’t change their way of culture, no more than you can change the way of extremists Muslims. Or Mexican drug cartels.

Despite all the myths about democracy and freedom, the US is a corporatocracy and the "defence" industry is the major recipient of US socialism. The US subsidises the arms industry to the extent that it spends many times more than the rest of the world put together.
This is the reason that so much is spent on convincing Americans that this or that country, these days usually a militarily very weak country like Afghanistan or Iraq as they’re all the US can handle despite the expenditure, are threatening to attack the US. If Saddam had had weapons of mass destruction, he would probably have had to transport them top the US by dinghy.
There is no way the US will do anything to dent the profits to be made by its corporate rulers.

Nope, it’s a part of our constitution. Guns have been around for hundreds of years, and crazies has been around longer. The difference is that we use to lock up the nuts. We will come down much harder on the insane instead of guns.
