I sure haven’t heard him say anything…
I bet you Bush supporters that defend the unconstitutional PATRIOT act will be sorry when Barak Obama labels you a terrorist for opposing his new gun control bill, bombing Iran, or whatever, and then you are arrested without a warrant, not allowed an attorney, not allowed to see a judge, and imprisoned indefinitely.
But back to the question – Has Obama ever criticized the PATRIOT ACT or said that he would abolish it? LINKS PLEASE
John W – I beg to differ – the government IS out to get you.
They want power, they want more power, they want your money, and they will crush anyone who stands in their way. They already have both parties bought and paid for.
Should I have to post links to the patriot act? It is law.
Ah ha – so he voted to renwew it. I should have guessed – he did attend a Bilderberg meeting and he is a CFR member.
Leftists are anti-freedom.

The Patriot act only pertains to terror suspects and what it allows for is wiretapping, etc. The Government isn’t out to get you.
Looking at how many members of Al Queda that we’ve caught and the fact that we haven’t been attacked since 9/11,the patriot act might not be so bad after all you dirty liberal.
Google before asking a foolish question, my friend!

I’m not an Obama supporter, and no, I haven’t heard him comment about the Patriot Act. However, I find it ironic that you have the audacity to request links when you fail to provide any yourself. I mean, on what exactly are you basing the implication that an Obama presidency will lead to being "arrested without a warrant, not allowed an attorney, not allowed to see a judge, and imprisoned indefinitely"? How about providing some sources to back THAT up, if that’s not raising the bar too high?
Below is a link to his voting record in the Senate for homeland security issues, including the PATRIOT Act. Obama voted "yes" to reauthorizing the Act and "no" to extending its wiretap provision.
He wants to suspend it
Obama opposed the Patriot Act during his run for the Senate. She’s relying on a 2003 Illinois National Organization for Women questionnaire in which Obama wrote that he would vote to "repeal the Patriot Act" or replace it with a "new, carefully crafted proposal." When it came time to reauthorize the law in 2005, though, Obama voted in favor of it. He started out opposing it: In Dec. 2005, Obama voted against ending debate–a position equivalent to declaring a lack of support for the measure. Then in February of that year, Obama said on the floor that he would support th Patriot Act’s reauthorization. In March 2006, Obama both voted for cloture and for the Patriot Act reauthorization conference.

I don’t have a good answer to your question, and when I went to research answers for it, I found that all videos with "Obama Patriot Act’ have been removed from youtube.com for terms of use violations, yet some are still in the search index. There was one titled "Why I voted for the patriot act", and at 8:00 long, it looked interesting.
They’re public videos from c-span. I wonder what was in them. Was it damaging to his current platform?
He voted to renew it. In his defense he voted against the Military Commissions Act.
