When I buy a firearm from a licensed dealer, they record the serial number and call in the background check. Is the firearm being registered to me? I live in a state which doesn’t require registering (Florida) but it seems like they are still tracking who’s got what…
so the gun is not being tracked in anyway? If I sell the gun in a few years to someone who uses it in crime..the gun can not be tracked to me at all?
Getting a receipt is a great idea…but still if the gun is used in a crime…you would be the first one the cops come to investigate and then you’ll better have a good alibi, since a receipt could be so easily faked..
OK this is a long story. I live in PA and I collect guns, mostly WW2 but I have an AR-15 and similar items in my collection. Sometimes I go to my aunts house for night shooting with tracers. (she has about 120 acres of land). Most recently I’ve been driving home from my part time 3rd shift job and I have to go throw DUI check points. Its only time until I’m coming home from my aunts with all my guns in my truck going threw a DUI check point. What should I tell them, Do they have the legal right to search my truck. Do I have to answer any questions they ask me. None of my guns are loaded but I do reload my clips at my aunts before I head home. I also have hi end mags. I have a truck so I can put the guns in the trunk. Do the cops have the right to handle my guns and look at the serial numbers. (I’m picky about people handleing my guns). I just don’t want any trouble but I know there are a few cops that would take advantage of the situation. BTW I’m 20 y/o with not a signal incident on my record and I purchased all my firearms threw license dealers. Let me know what you guys think because like I said its only time until it happens.
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
Thomas Jefferson
The Amended South African firearm control act of 2006 dictates that all gun owners must re-register their firearms. The process is (of course) painstakingly slow as it meanders through the politically correct and inefficient South African beaurocracy, with no guarantee of a renewed license.
Many of these weapons, that have been turned in to the backward and corrupt new South African police services, whilst awaiting renewal of the application, have miraculously found their way into the hands of violent criminals and used in robberies and murders.
The cops are criminals, too.
The first ‘civilized’ nation to enact gun control laws was Nazi Germany, in 1933.
Before a population can be overwhelmed, it first must be disarmed.
Statistically, cities that have the most strict gun laws have the highest amount of violent crime implying that stricter laws only make the crime problem worse and the only ones who have guns in these cities are cops and criminals.
