The Centers for Disease Control did and extensive review of various types of gun control: waiting periods,registration and licensing and bans on certain firearms. It found that th idea that gun control laws have reduced violent crime is simply a myth.

Lots of people seem to be in an uproar that Obama is going to take their guns. He wants to pass legislation to tighten gun control laws to make it harder for criminals and people with mental disease to purchase guns. Such as requirering background checks at gun shows. I want to know if being safe and saving lives and our childrens lives and this country is worth it to people to not be able to purchase guns as easily as in the past?

Keep in mind the Patriot Act, FISA, the Military Commissions Act and the new bill introduced by Senator Lieberman and 4 Republicans and the 2 repeals of Gun Control laws by Democrats in the last year.

Put aside all the Rhetoric and show proof :

1) there are gun control laws in place. 2)not everyone that owns a firearm is a nut job looking to gun down people. 3) in order for a person to own a sellect fire weapon (automatic) you must get a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and not all states allow that 4) criminals normally don’t go to the store and buy them (they steal them) 5) Charlton Heston is not the president of the NRA, John C. Why doesn’t the federal government set reasonable gun control laws for ALL states? Why do some states have no minimum age limit while others do? Why do some states have intensive background checks while others only have the bare minimum?

The Amended South African firearm control act of 2006 dictates that all gun owners must re-register their firearms. The process is (of course) painstakingly slow as it meanders through the politically correct and inefficient South African beaurocracy, with no guarantee of a renewed license.
Many of these weapons, that have been turned in to the backward and corrupt new South African police services, whilst awaiting renewal of the application, have miraculously found their way into the hands of violent criminals and used in robberies and murders.
The cops are criminals, too.
