HR45 the new proposed house bill called "Blair holt licensing and registration act of 2009" will require any hand gun owners and self-loading (guns with a magazine) rifles to register with the Attorney General, give fingerprints, show drivers license or state ID, and update all your address information, and changes. Also requires you to report any sale of a firearm, private or public. Failure to update any address information will be punishable by a year in jail, and the loss of your right to ever own a gun. It also gives them the authority to come into your home and see how and where your guns are kept. This bill is sponsored by Bobby Rush, who is a former domestic terrorist and member of the Black Panthers. Also from Chicago and an acquaintance of B. Obama.
I don’t know about you, but this makes me very uneasy. I had heard that Obama wants to control gun ownership, guess so…

For all you non-believers, check it out at www.independanceinstitute.org

Be sure to read the comments, you will find more information about gun control act

I found online these cool replicas that look like real firearms but arnt. They’s replicas and they do fire, but only blank ammunition, since the barrels are all closed up it cannot and will not fire live ammunition. By federal law they are considered non-leathal wepons so you do not need a license to own one. You just have to be 18. well i always wanted a hand gun but not to shoot at anything, just to have like a replica, so that way i dont need to have a license just to have it on the wall, or even to mess with some friends. What is the law on those as far as carying them with you, i figure its a same thing as a bb gun. so what are the laws on carrying those replica guns, bb guns, airsoft guns loaded in possetion or in your vehicle, like in a glove campartment. yes iam aware of people being shot because their toys were mistaken for a real fire arm, but iam not planning to pull and point one at a police officer, but i would scare some friends lol thats evil.

Very interesting.

Here are some highlights

FINDINGS: gun violence in the United States is associated with the majority of homicides, over half the suicides, and two-thirds of non-fatal violent injuries//it is in the national interest and within the role of the Federal Government to ensure that the regulation of firearms is uniform among the States

PURPOSE: to restrict the availability of qualifying firearms to criminals, youth, and other persons prohibited by Federal law from receiving firearms (I wonder who would be prohibited by federal law besides criminals)

QUALIFYING FIREARM: any hand gun or semi automatic only exception is antiques (this encompasses a lot of firearms)

LICENSING: In order to have a firearm you must have a license and to receive a license you must submit an application along with picture id, name and current address, date and place of birth, thumbprint, a certifcate of completion of a firearm course, an authorization for Attorney general to obtain your mental health records. this must be submitted to an authorized dealer or a fedearl government agency. (For you to have a gun legally you will have to be fingerprinted-Scary)

ISSUANCE: The Attorney General will issue a license provided the applicant meets all of the requirements (this has worked out so well with mail in rebates–if you do this and this and send this then you will get a refund I have yet to get a refund, I wonder how many licenses will be denied because something has not been submitted correctly)

REVOCATION AND CRIMINAL PENALITIES: Failure to report loss or theft, failure to provide change of address, failure to provide saftey in regards to child access, failure to posess a firearm license, failure to comply with universal background check

INSPECTIONS: The attorney general may enter any place where firearms are manufactured, stored or held to inspect those areas.

I sold a WWII dated P-38 handgun to someone. Now I need to ship it to them. He is going to get his FFL to send me some paperwork and/or license to me so I can ship it through the USPS to the FFL. Is this possible? Do they have some form or something to let me ship a handgun USPS?

I know I could ship it next day through FedEx or UPS, but at – that is a bit extreme and would like to ship through the USPS priority for -.

So is it possible that his FFL can
The USPS will ship hand guns if you are a 01FFL (dealer), I am only a 03FFL (curio and relics collector). I am trying to find out if the 01FFL has some way to let me, a private citizen (as the 03FFL dosen’t effect shiping, only recieving C&R guns), send them a hand gun through the USPS. I don’t think I can but I want to make sure as saving would be great.

I’ve done my research, and yes it is possible for someone under the age of 21 to purchase a hand gun. It must be purchased from a private seller, federal law states that one cannot purchase from a Federal Firearms licensed dealer (a bit of a loop hole there). I have found a private seller willing to sell me his handgun, but because it is outside of the state it must be shipped to someone with an FFL. My question is does shipping said firearm to an FFL constitute a sale by an FFL, thus not allowing me to purchase it?
As for the handgun for whomever wanted to know, it was a PT 1911 for 5
The state I reside is Minnesota. I have spoken to my police station on mutliple occasions and it is indeed legal for me to make a private purchase of a handgun. While I never attempted to qualify for the olympic shooting team, I think quarter sized groupings with a .223 open sight qualifies me as a decent shooter :P
