I'm 18 and would like to purchase a handgun. How do I go about doing this in Alaska?

Ok so if I’m 18 and a friend of mine is 21, can he purchase the pistol from the store, and then sell it to me? I think the law is 21, but I heard something about that only applying to registered dealers or something. I have never been arrested, and my buddy who would purchase the pistol actually works at the sport and goods department in this grocery store and handles the sales of guns. thanks

I’m mainly purchasing it for protection because I got robbed at gun point a couple months ago. "david" This is a gift from a friend that is 21. there’s no law keeping him from giving me the gun as a gift. "straw purchase" there’s no way to prove that. hey it’s Christmas and is the time for gift exchanges.

What was the real reason for making it so a 18 year old can buy a shotgun or rifle but you have to be 21 to buy a handgun? I can cut down a shotgun and conceal it just as well as a handgun. If I were a crazy mass murderer I could do far more damage with a scoped bolt action rifle than with a pistol. We should be allowed to buy a pistol at age 18. So why did they make it law we must be 21?

I go to college in Arizona and am a legal resident of Kansas. My apartment got broken into for the 3rd time a day or so ago and I really sick and tired of this. I am looking to exercise my right to bear arms now for protection. Arizona law says you have to be a legal resident to buy a handgun from this state. I was wondering if I purchased a handgun online from a dealer in Kansas could it be shipped down here(Arizona) to a licensed dealer with a FFL (Federal Firearms License) to be handed off to me?

How come my white FFL said he would only hold one firearm for 7 days before the next one arrives?

But I switched to another FFL who was mexican american and he said he can put up to 5 firearms in his 4403 form. I even asked this on the firing line forums, and they have never heard of the 7 day limit holding with the ATF or whatever. I think my ignorant white FFL guy was thinking I was going to use them to shoot up some place. He probably doesn’t know that I already graduated.

Anyway, hope this doesn’t scare anyone, and liberals that I’d like to be apologetic to, but when chaos breaks out, I want to protect myself from whites. My white FFL is okay and a bit friendly though and tries to give a good deal, but I’ve found a better deal with my mexican FFL. It’s a tad cheaper and plus my white FFL was out of town for almost a week, and I sent the money order in already expecting him to complete the FFL license transfer, so I needed someone else to do it.
Also mostly need when chaos breaks out even in CA by some white supremacists. I heard Eric Phelps claiming that the Chinese will come over and kill and rape them, and that he will take no prisoners. So I gotta watch out for psychotics like that, especially when you know what happened to indians/middle easterns after 911.
Oh yeah and for the details, I asked my mexican FFL if he had a timeframe for holding one firearm before the next arrives and he said no, which he explained that the form can hold up to 5. He is charging total or was it 40, and the other guy is charging 50$. Which is the cheapest out of all the FFLs I’ve found. The other ones who are white charge 20$ per handgun. And one time I called this Bill Manciani guy and he charged more than his old quoted price; per handgun. What a ripoff.
Mexican FFL has his own site to get rates from his wholesalers too. And he said I could’ve gotten this one item for 25$ cheapers, and said I should consider asking him next time for deals.

Handgun shipping question?

If I want to sell one of my handguns through a handgun auction site how do I ship it to someone in another state legally? Is it the same as a rifle where I as the seller do not need an FFL license but I do need to ship it to a business with an FFL license? Also I was told that only UPS will ship handguns and you have to use the one day delivery option for handguns, is that true also? When I checked the price to ship one day via UPS the cost was on average of .00 to ship most places. If you have to ship one day shipping for a handgun why on some of the auction sites they say shipping to anywhere .00?

How to legally buy a firearm (handgun) in IL, MO, or TN?

I will be 18 soon, and wish to buy some type of firearm to celebrate the occasion. What I need to know is how I can legally go about this, as I have no intention of doing anything illegal with it. I’ve done some research, and I know that the federal law is 21 for a handgun, but I’ve also heard that an 18 year old can privately purchase a handgun in the presence of a police officer. FYI, the gun I really want is a Colt M1911. I already have a valid Driver’s license for IL, and I live in MO. I will also be going to college in TN, so that is an option as well. I know that IL requires a FOID, but can anyone help with what exactly I need to, and what would be the easiest state to obtain the weapon in? Please remember, I want to do this LEGALLY!
