I went to buy a shotgun for hunting purpose.,I am not a US citizen but i was having all the documents needed to buy a firearm(non citizen requirement, hunting license) In the verification phase the dealer told me that the verification process was put on hold But i don’t know why, He told me to call after 4 days. I don’t have any criminal or mental history record and i don’t even have a traffic violation. Can anybody tell tell wat would be the reason and maximum how long it will take. Is there a way like contacting BATF to know the reason or something. If so how?

I want to get a C&R license and its my first time applying, I came across a few problems while filling out the form. I when to the local PD for help but they said they’ve never seen a form like that before. They also didn’t know who the Chief LEO is.

So I’m hoping someone here can help me?

One question 10: Non-immigrant alien certification of compliance with USC 18… etc,
I’m a US citizen, do I need to fill out any part of #10 A, B, or C? Because on C it asks "are you in possession of a valid hunting license of permit lawfully issued in the US?" followed by "if you answered NO, you likely cannot lawfully possess a firearm and therefore cannot be a federal firearms licensee". I don’t have a valid license right now, and I’d rather not have to spend alot of money to get one in order to get a C&R. does Question 10 apply tome at all?

List #14, requires me to make a copy to local Chief LEO or Sheriff, does that mean city CLEO or county CLEO? If I drop by the county courthouse and go to the county sheriff’s dept can I get help there? is that the CLEO I give my copy to?

List #15, "title": what does that mean?

and finally to apply for a C&R license, is this the only form I fill out?

-thanks

i want to go deer hunting, but im not sure if they will let me buy a hunting license since i never did any firearm safety training or anything like that.

I am a foreign national currently residing in California as non-resident alien (J-1 visa). I am interested in acquiring a handgun and a rifle for target practice. As far as I understand, the State of California does not restrict gun possession by aliens, but the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 specifically prohibits gun possession by nonimmigrant aliens (922d5) UNLESS they have a hunting license (922y2A, part 2).

Is it correct that I shall be able to lawfully acquire California-legal firearms and ammunition after having qualified for and received my California Resident Hunting License, and that no other documents except such license and verification of legal status in the US will be needed?

Yes I’m 18+
Yes I know how to get a rifle
Yes I know Federal and State laws on firearms

All I need to know is what I need to do to get license to carry a long gun.
Sorry for any misunderstands… I meant a hunting license.
