I take offense at the term. I own a CZ-452 .22 rifle for silhouette shooting. I own a Benjamin 392, 397 (my first gun) and HB 17 for plinking. So I own 3 pellet guns and a .22. I was called a "gun nut" by a neighbor after a pet pot belly pig was shot and killed by a moronic child in the neighborhood. I shoot at targets on my property with my pellet rifles and pistol, legally. I only shoot my .22 at a range. I would never condone the act of shooting another person’s pet. I think the kid should be punished to the limit of the law. It was brought up I shoot in my yard too and the police paid a visit on me to ask a few questions.
Some how the acts of a few stupid people has tarnished all of us. Do you as a gun owner support the right to bear arms to the point of irresponsibility? Is there a point where you draw the line. I do. I know some people out there shoot for the thrill of killing. Not me. I don’t even hunt. How can we expect to keep our right to bear arms if we support absolutely no gun control or responsibility. Responsible gun owners will lose everything because of the few who just can’t do the right thing.

Why are Americans allowing the Federal government to erode it little by little? NFA? Gun Control Act of 1968? FOPA of 1986? AWB of 1994?

If it is a God given right….

Why is the NRA not aggressive enough to reverse these losses of our right to bear arms? (NRA needs to man up and fight for our rights).

An 8 year old shoots his father and friend, a 4 year old shoots his babysitter, its so common place for all those so called "right to bear arms" people, its also too easy for children to copy their fathers and pick up that gun and shoot. We need stricter gun laws.

I am for some gun control, but I also believe in the Constitution. I can be convinced that in order to preserve the Constitution, there should be less rules restricting them..granted it would take some debate, but the Constitution comes 1st. My question is: how can a Conservative use the Constitution to ensure the right to bear arms and be OK with the government reducing any citizen’s rights in order to combat terrorism. How can they be so rightious about one article of the Constitution and decide other articles have less importance and call themselves patriots? How can a Conservative support what the Patriot Act can do to our liberties? Is one freedom less important than another?
I’m actually in favor of gun controls, but the Constitution guarantees the right ot bear arms and not have our correspondence monitored and not be imprisoned without due process…if the right to the due process and privacy disappear, the right to bear arms will be meaningless…the government (let’s say an evil one) will simply listen to everyone’s phones, e-mails, and snail mail and swoop down and destroy the oppostion before they could organize. I believe the right to bear arms was originally intended to give the citizens a fighting chance against a government gone bad and to protect one’s person
to my way of thinking, a real American patriot is LESS concerned about the government institutions regulating American life and more concerned about the meaning meanings behind the Constitution…freedom tyranny in all it’s forms….How has politics managed to separate the articles of the Constution into the important ones and the not so important ones? (rhetorical question)
sorry, should say "freedom from tyranny in all its forms"

I am 15. I believe in a constitutional right to bear arms. I do not need a gun, but I believe that if Clinton (and perhaps Obama) is elected, then some sort of gun control act will be put into action. I would much rather sell the firearm in a couple years, then want to have one, and not be able to buy it.

This summer I will be taking firearm safety classes, and will get a job to save 00 by the end of the year for the purchase of the rifle. (Possibly an AR-15)

My question is, is it legal for a minor to posses an otherwise legal firearm in the state of Texas? My parents would buy it, the question is if I can own it. Would it be better to keep the rifle in storage until I turn 18?

Thank you.
Why do I want a firearm? I don’t really want one NOW, but there is a very large chance that there will be increased gun control, and I, as a law abiding US citizen, will not be able to purchase one in the future.

I personally do not subscribe the whole "Lets make MORE laws because the criminals obviously will follow those, because, you know, it’s the law.
