We had another opportunity to film and shoot a POF AR15 rifle (.223/5.56mm). It’s tough filming left handed shooters we soon discovered, so Warptyn took a few shots allowing us to get a right handed view of this nice rifle in high speed- and put on a good show in the process. – We use a Flip Ultra HD for our real-time footage and a Casio EXF1 Pro camera for our high speed footage, set to record @ 600 frames per second. The Flip camera does a nice job of recording HD, as LONG as you don’t move the camera around much. The stereo mics of the Flip pick up sound very well with very little wind-noise.
The Centurion 39 Sporter Rifle is a 100% US made AK-47. It’s milled receiver makes for a very accurate rifle. The quality makes for a very solid rifle that will last a lifetime.
Let’s discuss about the sound effects and models of the weapons. The M16 always appears first. Some games only have one of the two weapon versions. Well, there are WAY too many games with the M16 series, even I can’t find everything. I don’t own any consoles, so those are only PC games and mods. M16 (more formally Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16) is the US military designation for a family of rifles derived from the ArmaLite AR-15 and further developed by Colt starting in the mid-20th century. Games used in order: Americas’ Army / Army Ops, Battlefield 2, Desert Combat (BF1942 Mod), FarCry, Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike Beta (This is actually the Retro-CS mod), Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, The Specialists (Half-Life Mod), Hostile Intent (Half-Life Mod), Insurgency (A Steam Source-Mod), Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, Operation Flashpoint, XIII, Max Payne, Postal 2 and Blood 2.
US Army Training Film on the XM16E1 rifle, the first mass-fielded version of the M16 rifle. This is the version with chrome-plated bolt carrier, no trap door in the buttstock, no forward assist, non-chrome-lined chamber, and three-prong flash suppressor. Somewhat notorious for reliability issues in the jungles of Vietnam, it was upgraded into the much more reliable M16A1 in 1967. Most of the basic information in this video is just as true today for the M16A2/A4 and M4 carbine.
