Survey – Gun Control(Yes Or No)

1.Will laws dictating the mandatory use of trigger locks significantly reduce accidental deaths?
2.Laws prevailing the possession and carrying (keeping & bearing) of firearms are effective at preventing criminal acts.
3.Laws regulating the manner in which firearms are kept in your home (locked, disassembled, etc.) will effectively prevent accidental gun deaths.
4.Do you fear the possession of guns by the civilian?
5.Is gun ownership a symbol of independence, self-reliance, freedom, and responsibility?
6.Do law abiding citizens who carry concealed weapons endanger the public?
7.If all guns were to magically disappear tomorrow, there would be no more criminal violence?
8.The majority of criminal violence is the availability of guns.
9.Instead of offering protection, a gun in the home puts families at an even greater risk.
10.Should civilian ownership of guns be forbidden?
11.Does advance training with firearms reduce accidental deaths?
12.Should high-powered rifles be available to anyone with a firearms license?
13.Can having quick access to a firearm increase deaths by guns?

Thanks for your time!

My definition of gun control is using both hands and hitting you target. Personally we don’t need any more gun control, we need idiot control. Any firearm in all of their history NEVER killed one single person or animal, the person holding the weapon and squeezing the trigger did. If you want to argue that guns kill ppl, do this, load a gun and place it on your table, it WON’T do anything but sit there. So how do you feel about gun/firearm control? I say there needs to be a lift on the types of weapons one can own and no restrictions like needing a class 3 federal license to own a fully automatic rifle.
Thanks to all that actually answered and understood what I was saying and had a IQ above a 50 as Lone Wolf said, sadly I can only pick one as best answer, I feel that all of the answer are best answers except that Libarya person, who obviously has many issues.
@Libraya, I am a former Correctional Officer, if you don’t know what that is, that’s a person that works in a prison also know as Prison Gaurds, as a C/O I had to unfortunately protect murders that used firearms and other tools like knives, I’d rather those criminals receive the death penalty instead of waste tax payer money to keep them alive.

I recently got my class A LTC (no restrictions) in MA and the issuing officer was very limited on information he felt like giving me, (and its a pain in the ass to contact the guy which is why I’m askin this on Yahoo now)
I’ve been going through the paper work and maybe its right in front of me but my questions are…
1. Can I carry a concealed weapon?
2. Can I accompany a non-licensed person? (aka if I go to the range or something, allow someone whos not licensed to operate one of my firearms) It seems as though thats how it’s worded I’m just double checking.
3. What else can I possibly do that I’m not thinkin of? Other than basicallly purchase any and all large cap weapons other then a machine gun. oh and can I legally transport a weapon through RI or ME because I go to both often and would like to go hunting in ME and there are a few good ranges in RI. (as long as their locked up and ammo seperated)
MA is extremely strict on its licensing polocies.. the LTC stand for licence to carry, the class A is for high cap firearms

I am a soon-to-be 27 year old male that presently lives in NJ, but am moving after my tax refund to a less restrictive state. While in NJ, I earned a conviction for a 3rd-degree crime which in NJ is ‘Unlawful Possession of a Weapon," or "Possession without License" 2C:39-5. It was treated as a Felony because that is what NJ Does. my problem and bitterness with the State lie in that the ‘Weapon’ was a BB Gun/Pellet gun… and fit NJs definition of a weapon, and it makes me mad that NJ compares BBs to real rounds fired out of real weapons. I now have something that in NJ is a ‘Felony,’ since I finished my 2 Years Probation (this is over the BB Gun, folks, and if I fight hard enough I can retain the court papers that say that on every page.)

I am. however, the victim of severe firearms violence, and feel much more comfortable owning one, not really mattering what it is. Long gun, handgun, small caliber, large, whatever… and I am -determined- to legally own one! *Note: I am not even talking about CCW (yet) here… just doing like Florida to legally have one in my home is fine with me (Tampa.) (I am one of the NOBama people, no secret I would never be able to own one in my life with the laws he likes. That day is coming, folks.)

My question here, is if I move to a state with better laws on matters like this – Alabama, Utah, something – that only requires a Federal check, this item will still popo up. Now I do not know if I will receive a ‘Deny’ or ‘Delay’ response right then, or if they will send Police to where I am for even trying to make a legal purchase, but What if, in the state I decide to become a legal provable resident, the charge that is a ‘Felony’ (3rd Degree Superior Court, technically punishabe by 5 years PRISON for the BB Gun, getting really mad here, I was sentenced to 2 years probation because I think the Courts knew how weak the case was but were powerless to downgrade past the prosecutor, honestly) is -Not Eben a Crime- to possess BB, Pellet, and Airsoft guns in the new state???

I would really appreciate some insight, because Expungement in NJ is 5 or 10 years, and by no means guaranteed. Thank You for your input, I am sure some veteran firearms sellers/shooters/store owbers have come across the ‘Prohibited Person’ in one state, Fine by the new state laws-scenario before. Please pardon my occasional typos, and yes I know this is a tricky thing, I just appreciate some info and hopefully favorable information, this topic bugs me! I do not want my mistake to literally be with me my whole life on earth. Thanks.

- Joe

Group A: People who go to licensed dealers and gun show and purchase their firearms where they are registered with the federal authorities. They obtain permits to carry concealed firearms after hours of safety training and hundreds of rounds of practice fire and after intense scrutiny into their criminal record. They spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on high end firearms and ammunition that is held to the highest level of quality and safety control. They spend hundreds of hours and countless rounds of ammunition a year at the range. Some are former law enforcement and military personnel. They are some of the safest firearms operators on the planet. They purchase their weapons for hunting, sport, to exercise their God given right, and to assure the safety and well being of themselves, their loved ones, and their property. What they DO NOT do is perform drive-bys, knock off Seven-Elevens, mug people, and commit murder. For that matter they don’t commit hardly any type of crime because they have to maintain their permits to CCW.

Group B: People who commit murder, perform drive-bys, knock off Seven-Elevens, mug people, and generally have little to no regard for the law. What they DO NOT do is purchase their guns from licensed vendors or register them with law enforcement. They do not purchase high end equipment and ammunition from reputable dealers. They do not obtain legal permits to carry concealed weapons. They do not go through training in weapons use and safety. They do not go through any kind of screening process to weed out criminals (because that’s what they are). They purchase their fireams for any one of the aforementioned reasons

You still with me?

Now, using gun grabber logic, you can stop and prevent Group B from committing all the terrible things they do by taking guns away from Group A.

If you disagree, then please enlighten me.

ILLINOIS: Cook County Considering Two Anti-Gun Proposals! There are currently two anti-gun ordinances taking aim at our Second Amendment rights in Cook County. First, the Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance requires the registration of all firearms and firearm owners in the county. As written, it is an outright gun ban and prohibits the transport of a firearm in your vehicle unless the firearm is "broken down in a nonfunctioning state." The other proposed ordinance would amend the county’s "Deadly Weapon Dealers Ordinance" to completely ban all gun shows within the county, and prohibits federally licensed dealers from operating within 10 miles of another federally licensed dealer. There is currently no timetable set for when either will be taken up for consideration, so please contact the Cook County Board of Commissioners immediately and urge them to oppose these attacks on the Second Amendment.
My question….What will this do? I mean I almost want them to make all this "law" so that when the streets do not get cleaned up and people still get shot it will prove that this only effects legal, reponsible owners.
I would love to move. Just cannot afford it. But yeah come 08 when they rule on the DC bans….
