no way in hell a US troop would choose the ak….just wouldnt happen.
Well it does happen. You betta believe it. Some soldiers are just tired of constantly their M4 for an hour everyday, having it jam, and loosing little piece to the gun. The sand in Iraq is so fine that it gets into every little crack thus jamming the m4. The Ak needs maybe 5min for cleaning and they like the fire power compared to the m4. The ak is simple, never jams, and is easy to clean. But it works both ways, terrorists prefer the M4 instead of the ak.

i would of thought they would of fixed the jaming thing now, i meen wtf? its 2009 and they still have problems with thier rifle.
iv spoke to vets and they say they wouldnt change coz it was what they were trained with and they say the ak jumps all over the place….but i dont know shit about guns so ill take your word for it mate.

Well, luckily Colt did fix the jamming problem with an M4 Prototype. It contains a short stroke piston gas system instead of a direct impingement. I still say it is a little to late. Other companies like HK and Remington have come out was conversion kits. The gas system is the main problem with the M4. Well videos say that the problem with the recoil of the AK47 is the design of the stock which makes sense.
I´ve seen a video in YT some days ago in wich you´ll be able to see it by yourself maybe AK vs M16 or another I don´t remember, but I´m sure, watch the related videos and get owned!!

the gun is the gun, and it’s people’s fault how they use or misuse it. on another hand it’s more fair to die from ak rather than from some unmanned aircraft missile or blackwater death squads.

The design of the AK-47 was taken after the second world war of the German STG-44, which says that mister Kalashnikov is not so intelligent, he only improved a German weapon.

The shape and general concept may have been, but they use quite different gas systems. The AK uses parts of several different designs, but it’s not lifted entirely from any one of them.
There are no similarities between SG 44 and AK 47 appart from look.

WW2 ended 1945, after that the russians, americans and brits have stolen as much of the advanced german technology and scientists as they could. Hugo Schmeisser(the creater of STG44) was captured and brought to kalashnikovs factury together with 50 STG44 and over 10.000 pages of weaponplans. 2 years after they got a very similar looking weapon. But maybe Hugo Schmeisser brought the coffee, the STG44 were used for realistic targets and the weaponplans were used te heat the fire…all possible?!
Truly the best firearm ever and i wouldn’t want to have anything else if i were to go to war. Lets just hope that won’t happen.
@lifes40123 STG stands for Sturmgewehr the German coined word for Assault Rifle meaning literally “storm rifle.” MP stands for Machinenpistole the German coined term for submachine gun meaning literally “machine pistol” they used the MP designation during secret production then Hitler changed it to STG to show it’s power, in my opinion either on is right.
