good videos amer1cancer2753 this tells alot about the m16.
hahah! I like the way they tell about the land-warrior
The OICW be the ultimate infantry weapon? I DON’T THINK SO! M16 forever.
M-16 for the win. It’s the combat rifle for any situation.
@steamingpoopfart nah, there is no practical situation where a bayonet would be used. A guy i know who was in vietnam said, you shoot, and you run back for more ammo. No one bayonet charges unless they are crazy muslims.
@iceteaguy The great joke is that we know what works better but they invented it thirty-years ago in another country, so we would have to pay them for it. Also, do we really need better? M16 is not the cheapest and most cost-effective gun but it does actually kill people very well. Think Mogadishu in 1993.
@amer1cancer2753 I think the real reason it was dropped is that the military is simply propping up the gun industry and keeping their engineers busy. There is no need for new guns for the 1st-world (and demand is dropping as they disarm civilians) and the surplus weapon stocks are more than enough for the 3rd-world. To keep gun maker profits up, they are given research grants but no real expectation of new orders.
very informative documentary… does kinda have a propaganda feel to it though.
they already have it
m16 is so not among the best anymore…
M16 is the best Ak is for the terrorists Semper fi tilI I die haha
a bulky big ass camera on top of a light small gun…stupid “system” and not comfortable as they were selling it

This IS the weapon of the future. Plastic and or alluminum will eventually render metal and wood obsolete. So give the M16 some credit, take a look at weapons like the SIG 556, FAMAS and Steryr AUG very futuristic like the M16. In my view if you use an M16 you have the incentive to clean it alot more therefore less likely to jam. whereas the AK you have the incentive to clean it alot less therefore more likely to jam. it just my opinion i’ll never know for sure tho…
@iceteaguy uhhhh… One badside to bullpup rifles is that they aer louder because the firing mechanism is closer to your ears, and when they need to reload it feels more weird… Fs2000 can proove this but they are compact and you can keep the same barrel and taking out more space making it more compact.
@TerrbleTrioHerb Where were the muslims in vietnam? o.O
@Tux3d0 You’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer… I’m saying in general, the only people who charge with swords/bayonets are crazy Muslims.
This video is kind of old now though, we’re now at the a4 model….
@TerrbleTrioHerb Actually that is more of a stereotype, and its not true its only radical idiots like Al-Qaeda that do that…
holy shit that gun at the end looks like it came out of star wars lol
yes!The OICW has failed!
We put so many “bells and whistles” on our rifles that I’m not sure if we’re doing it for the troops, or if we’re doing it so the weapons manufacturers can sell the DoD a $3,000 weapon when a basic $100 AK47 is arguably as good or better…
The OICW looks awesome but it seems very bulky and probably would inhibit movement a bit. Soldiers have to be quick and accurate. The M16 achieves this. I remember a rumor a bit ago saying the MP7 was going to be issued to soldiers. Anyone hear about that?
3:22 What this guy says is my favorite part of all of these M-16 videos…
@amer1cancer2753 maybe in the distant future i seriously doubt the military will drop the money on retraining soldiers and marines on a bullpup weapon. I bet theyll stay with the m16 or m16like platforms like the hk416
love this weapon, learned alot from this video! I never got to fire one but My uncle did in vietnam, thanks for posting!
