Do they allow concealed/open carry there? What are the age restrictions (if any) for gun ownership? Are full autos allowed? If so, are they regulated in a special class of their own (like here in the U.S.)? Also, are there any ammo restrictions (ie, no hollow points, steel core rounds, etc)? Thanks in advance.

You need to get a permit to carry a firearm.
To get a license you have to be:
An Israeli permanent resident for at least 3 years and basic knowledge of reading and writing Hebrew.
At least 27 years old (in some cases 21),
"health declaration" from an M.D. stating that the person is fit to carry a handgun, according to the ministry of health
Conform to one of the criteria for obtaining the permit – These include working or being a resident of a "dangerous areas" (as specified by the security authorities), working for security forces, public drivers (bus, cabs, etc.), explosives driver, or owner of gold/jewelery business. In all of these cases a person can obtain a license for a single handgun.
Licensed hunters can carry a shutgun.
(There are a few more rarer cases)
Renewing the permit is possible only if a person still conforms to the original criteria.
It’s my understanding that everyone is required to spend two years in the military starting at age 18yrs. So just about every one of there has probably held a full automatic rifle at one time or another. It’s not uncommon to see teenage boys and girls walking around with a M16 slung over their back in Israel….in a store or on the streets. As for citizens owning a firearm I’m not sure…Israel is the last place I want to live.
Are you a Jew? Are you a Muslim? There’s two sets of laws for everything in Israel. You can bet a Israeli Jew has little problems getting anything he/she wants.
Ouch, Butch made it clear and changed my views about there. What the heck have they got against rifles?
hangfire,
males – 3 years (usually 18-21)
females – 2 years (usually 18-20), for certain jobs its 3 years.
teenagers never carry m16 (or any kind of firearms) because they are teenagers (criminals do, obviously), only soldiers carry it and also not every soldier. only those who serve as fighters carry the weapon outside military base.
no weapons is a good thing. i never heard of a school shooting in israel.
rascal,
you live in israel ?
if you dont, how come you know so much ? (sarcasm)
