No one can privately, legally own a fully automatic weapon of any kind.
Yes You can……You need to Have a Federal Class 3. and the Proper Stamps……
You need to join the military. And even then you can’t own it, but they’ll train you to shoot it.
You will need a Type 3 Federal Firearms License (FFL)
You need a Federal automatic weapon license and they are hard to come by.
Here is the real answer as to whether it is possible for non-military /non law enforcement (private party) to own an automatic weapon legally in the US. The firearm must fall into the C&R class (criteria include over 50 years old and be in original condition and have some historic value among other criteria)
