Keep in mind the Patriot Act, FISA, the Military Commissions Act and the new bill introduced by Senator Lieberman and 4 Republicans and the 2 repeals of Gun Control laws by Democrats in the last year.

Neither
Democrats respect my right not to have Christianity shoved down my throat by Government. Republicans can’t resist using Government as a tool for Evangelism.
Both parties have abused the Constitution.

Obama just renewed key provisions of the Patriot Act a couple of months ago. Tell me, have those Gitmo detainees been released yet?
Nothing wrong with FISA to begin with.
i would have to say the dems. although they vote for things that restrict rights, at least they have a vote. The Bush administration just did stuff and hoped no one found out. Like wiretapping, deciding who would be tried as a citizen and who wouldn’t, and god only knows what they did that we don’t know about.
Neither….. everyone in washington is just a greedy politician. we haven’t had a real, honest, for the people government in over 70 years.
Depends on which constitutional rights you are talking about.
Both parties tend to focus on the parts of the constitution that support their views, and ignore those that don’t support their views.
I’d say neither party is doing a very good job of protecting our rights.

Statists always trample our Constitutional rights for their own gain. Our founding fathers already knew that. It is not a matter of Republican vs. Democrat in this instance. It is a matter of Bush, Lieberman, Obama, Reid and Pelosi all being statists.
In conservatism you will find the preservation of individual liberty.

Both parties use the constitution. I have been in Republican company that have said it is OK for Illegals to pick fruit or work in there house without a visa, but then get angry that immigration is out of hand. I have seen democrats criticise the working person for being a racist because they don’t want to share their Jobs.
The IRS has more power than any other TAX collector in the western world, but it a Nation built on Tax evaders.
Religion, no National one but paying a church is Tax deductible. People are free to marry young girls and a large number of them, but are protected. Death of unborn children, but the mother is forgotten.
Just a tip of the Iceberg of what happens there. Each party uses the above topics of the Constitution to their own use in equal proportion.
libertarians. name one democrat who tried to end the war on drugs. obama voted for the reathorization of the patriot act. the two large parties are very alike.
